Panel on the February 28 Process and Fundamental Rights Held at BAUN
The
panel entitled “The Impact of the February 28 Process on Fundamental Rights and
Freedoms”, organized by the Academic Law Society of the Faculty of Law at
Balıkesir University (BAUN), was held on February 28, 2025, in Classroom 360 of
the Faculty of Law.
The
panel, moderated by Assistant Professor Dr. Münevver Kübra Bakırcı of the
Department of Civil Law, featured Assistant Professor Dr. Semih Batur Kaya of
the Department of Constitutional Law as the keynote speaker.
The event commenced with the opening address by the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Yasan. During the panel, the legal and social dimensions of the February 28 process and its impact on fundamental rights and freedoms were discussed from an academic perspective. Assistant Professor Dr. Semih Batur Kaya evaluated the reflections of the process on constitutional rights and legal principles, while also responding to questions from the participants. The panel, which attracted considerable interest from law students, emphasized the importance of protecting fundamental rights and freedoms in the course of historical developments.
