International Law and Comparative Law Seminar
A Seminar on
International Law and Comparative Law Held at Our Faculty of Law Prof. Dr.
Oswald Johnson, a faculty member of Balıkesir University Faculty of Law and an
expert academic and attorney in the field of administrative law, conducted an
online seminar in English for second and third-year students of our faculty on
June 9, 2026.
The seminar addressed
the significance of international law and comparative law, the necessity of
foreign language proficiency in legal education, and the international
opportunities available to students.
The seminar was further
enriched by the online participation of Dr. Yuzuki Nagakoshi, a distinguished
scholar in the fields of international law and international criminal law. A
Japanese legal academic, Dr. Nagakoshi has served as a Visiting Professional at
the International Criminal Court, worked within the African Court on Human and
Peoples’ Rights, and conducted original research in international human rights
law and international criminal law. Her reflections on her experiences in the
international arena and her academic career proved both inspiring and
instructive for the students in attendance.
The seminar is expected
to deepen our students’ interest in international law and contribute to their
pursuit of career goals on a global scale.
