Aging Gracefully, Staying Energetic: A Joyful Closing at BAUN 60+ Refreshment University

University (BAUN) 60+ Refreshment University concluded the 2024–2025 Academic
Year with a closing ceremony.
The
event, held at the Necatibey Faculty of Education Şehit Öğretmen Aybüke Yalçın
Conference Hall, was attended by BAUN Rector Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu, Vice
Rectors Prof. Dr. Cevdet Avcıkurt and Prof. Dr. Fatih Satıl, Balıkesir
Provincial Director of Family and Social Services Emine Böçkün, BAUN 60+
Refreshment University Coordinator Asst. Prof. Dr. Aslı Gözde Akış, senate
members, academic and administrative staff, students of the program, and their
families.
Following
the moment of silence and the Turkish National Anthem, the program continued
with an opening concert, after which students Canan Özdemir and Necdet Bayram
delivered speeches on behalf of their peers.
In her
opening remarks, Dr. Aslı Gözde Akış, Coordinator of the 60+ Refreshment
University, congratulated the students on their achievements.
Emine
Böçkün, Provincial Director of Family and Social Services, also addressed the audience,
celebrating the students’ accomplishments and expressing gratitude to the
academic and administrative staff who contributed to the program.
In his
speech, Rector Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu expressed his satisfaction with the
students’ strong participation, team spirit, and achievements in the 60+
Refreshment University, which is carried out by BAUN as part of its commitment
to community service. He also thanked all academic and administrative staff for
their contributions.
During
the ceremony, certificates of appreciation were presented to Prof. Dr. Mustafa
Yasan, Dean of the Faculty of Law, as well as to faculty members and volunteer
students who supported the program in the 2024–2025 academic year.
The event concluded with a group photo session.
