2023–2024 Academic Year Opening Ceremony of the Faculty of Law at BAUN

On the occasion of the 2023–2024 Academic Year, Balıkesir University Faculty of Law held its opening ceremony and inaugural lecture at the BAUN Atatürk Congress and Culture Center Gelibolu Conference Hall. The program was attended by Balıkesir University Rector and Acting Dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu, faculty members, and numerous students.

In his opening address, Rector and Acting Dean Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu welcomed participants. Following his remarks, Prof. Dr. Aydın Gülan, Chair of the Department of Administrative Law at Istanbul University Faculty of Law and Director of the Ord. Prof. Dr. Sıddık Samı̇ Onar Administrative Law Research Centre, delivered the opening lecture entitled “A sui generis Administrative Law Opening Lecture from a Law Student of 42 Years, Beginning Legal Education at Istanbul University Faculty of Law in 1981.”

Sharing his experiences with the students, Prof. Dr. Gülan underlined the principles of “success that leads to failure” and “the necessity of continuous, even if modest, progress.” The program continued with a question-and-answer session and concluded with Rector Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu presenting a gift to Prof. Dr. Aydın Gülan as a token of appreciation
