We are excited to announce the third edition of the YESLEARN program this year. In the first two editions, with the invaluable support of our coordinators, 433 students from 11 law faculties across Turkey participated in the training, and 131 students successfully passed the exam, earning the UN Judicial Conduct and Ethics Certificate.

The UN Judicial Ethics Training Program has been developed by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) with support from experts from diverse legal traditions, aiming to effectively implement:

-the Bangalore Principles of Judicial Conduct, adopted unanimously by all UN member states, and

-Article 11 of the UN Convention against Corruption (concerning the prevention of corruption in the judiciary).

Program Objectives

The program aims to inform young legal professionals about the Bangalore Principles of Judicial Conduct and enrich their understanding of justice and law, helping them gain depth in this area. The key learning outcomes include:

Rules of conduct that lawyers must follow in professional and personal life according to UN standards and European Court of Human Rights decisions.

The relationship between the right to a fair trial and judicial ethics.

Judicial conduct rules regarding social media use.

Experiences derived from case analyses demonstrating how global judicial values—independence, impartiality, integrity, propriety, equality, competence, and diligence—are applied in practice.

Participants will acquire knowledge, practical experience, and reasoning skills through this program.
